I got my first Bedlington in 1967 FIN CH Peggen Blue Pop-Boy and fell in love with this wonderful breed. I was very interested in dog shows and when I was at the first show with my Bedlington “Santtu” I saw there an amazing Skye Terrier. A few years later in summer I worked in kennel Skyeline and bought a Skye Terrier FIN CH Yarina Of Skyeline.
The first Meripihkan (Meripihkan means amber and it is the colour of Bedlington’s eyes) litter was born in 1981 and we have had just small home- breeding, totally 12 litters with 14 Meripihkan INT champions and 33 Finnish champions. We want to breed healthy, happy and beautiful Bedlingtons according to the breedstandard. It is also important that a Bedlington has lovely good and open temperament for company, shows, agility etc. Bedlington is also an excellent junior handler dog. Our children Ville and Vilhelmiina have competed in junior handling and Ville won the Finnish Mastership in juniorhandling in 2001at Helsinki Winner Show and he was the Finnish representant at Cruft’s 2002. 48 years with this lovely breed! |
